Today, I’m sharing 7 easy meal ideas or recipes you can make at home, that the whole family will enjoy – even the picky eaters in your home will devour these up! These meal ideas and recipes are our family’s personal favorites. I’ll link the recipes to each of these, when applicable.
This is my Mother’s “famous” macaroni and cheese recipe. It’s amazing and she gets many compliments on it from friends & family. She makes this for special family parties, like our son’s 2nd birthday party this past year. She also has pre-made this for my family and I when our babies were infants and we just didn’t have alot of time to spend on cooking.
Breakfast for dinner
This one is fun and always seems to surprise and delight the little ones. And it’s super simple – get out your favorite breakfast foods and serve for dinner.
Here are some ideas:
Sausage or Bacon
Toast with jam
Buffalo chicken is a household favorite for us, because I grew up in Buffalo, and it was a family tradition to eat buffalo chicken wings, at most family gatherings.
If you love lasagna, you’ll love these rollups. Here are a couple options to modify the recipe. Add beef to this recipe for more protein. Substitute pureed carrots for the spinach. I try to mix veggies into my kids’ food. Pureeing the carrots and adding them to the sauce, makes them difficult for any kid to detect!
Perfect for Taco Tuesday nights! We always pair this dish with a side of black beans and homemade salsa.
(yes this can be a meal!)
I included a picture of a charcuterie board for an example – if you’re like me, I didn’t know what a charcuterie board, by definition was, but I made it at least once a week for dinner, I just didn’t know it’s official name.
Gather all of your favorite cheeses, meats, crackers, olives, salsas, jams, honey and nuts. Combine them all on one plate. Sit down and feast. Very little work here, which is why I love it.
In our home, we renamed charcuterie board, to the “snack plate”. Very kid friendly and much easier to pronounce!
For a healthier option, this salad is to die for. The vinaigrette dressing is amazing. I’ve always been a fan of kale lettuce, however, this recipe by Cookie & Kate, taught me that you have to “massage” the kale to prepare it. This technique changes everything about kale and makes it taste so wonderful.
